How do I create a Marking rubric in Teams for Education?

Educators who have not had training in our Microsoft teams for education course always ask about how they can create a new Marking Rubric in Teams for Education. This is often due to Educators trying to set up assignments themselves without being fully aware of what a rubric does and how much it can help an educator with marking.

Our videos below demonstrate how to create a new marking rubric for a user using the desktop client.

Tutorial

  • First Navigate to the assignment you wish to make the marking rubric for and select add rubric.
  • Select the New rubric button in the right hand corner.
  • Give the rubric a name and then if necessary a description.
  • Set the various levels of grades that the rubric will use.
  • Fill in the rubric for each question and the criteria each answer will require to reach each grade.
  • When all of the questions have been filled in, decide if points allocation is necessary. If they are then ensure the points awarded for each grade are correct.
  • If points are being used then make sure that each question is given the proper weighting.
  • This is one of the topics covered in our Microsoft Teams for education Course. Take the course today to learn everything you will need to know to manage a class effectively and use Microsoft Teams for education to its full potential.

Microsoft Teams for education is more than just a communications tool and can be a vital way of providing a reliable method of online learning to pupils. However it was originally designed to be a powerful collaboration tool for business users within an organisation. If you are interested in learning to use Microsoft Teams for business uses rather than as an educator then our Teams End User Course can be of use in teaching a novice user how to utilise Teams in their day-to-day activities as part of a larger organisation. In addition, we offer our Microsoft Teams Admin Course that teaches a user to be able to create new teams and administer existing teams for your organisation so that they can collaborate seamlessly.
